Coming Soon....

On August 18th, 2012 we found out that we are expecting the next addition to the Worthington family! We told Kenedee first, of course and she was at first, not excited. (She was mad at us, because we took her cousin home). After some dinner and cheering up, she became very excited about becoming a big "Stister".
Kenedee called her grandma du Preez and her Aunt Jen to tell them. They were very excited.

We went over to Grandma and Grandpa Worthington's and she was excited to let them know too. After that, we kept it a secret, which was pretty hard for little Ken Ken (and for momma).

The secret didn't last long and eventually, everyone knew!

So now, I am 9 weeks, hoping morning sickness stops soon, and very excited to meet our little Worthy. :)

6 Months And Going Strong!

6 months ago today, I was sitting at Chick-Fil-A with my daughter, eagerly awaiting the 3pm hour to come around. It was a day filled with hair, make up, nails, excitement and eagerness.

When 3pm came, I was picked up and taken to the church where I walked down the aisle and vowed my love and devotion to the man of my dreams.

It's hard to believe that it's been 6 months! It's been 6 months filled with happiness, sadness, changes and excitement.

We have bought a house, finished the basement, gone through kindergarten, finished a backyard and cried day in and day out through one of the biggest trials we've both ever faced, my mother in law suffering from a stroke. Our love for each other keeps increasing with every passing day.

Josh became a first time father... to a 5 year old... talk about an adjustment! But, he loves her and does a great job raising her.

Kenedee has a dad for the first time. It's been great to see her form that special bond that only a father and daughter have.

I have had to learn to share in giving discipline, saying no and getting lots of hugs, kisses and "I lub you"'s,

Thanks for making the last 6 months the most rewarding, love filled 6 months of my life Josh and Kenedee! I love you more that you guys will ever know!

Our Beautiful Princess

So today I was thinking about all the cute things I love about Kenedee, and while there are too many to list them all, here are a few...

  • I LOVE the way she says "Hostible" (Hospital). It's so cute. Every day she says, "Are we going to the hostible to see gramma Lori?"

  • Her toothless smile! Oh my Oh my! She is ADORABLE without her teeth. ("Teef" as she would say)

  • When she gets her way, she shouts out "You're the best mom and dad eber!! (ever)".... when she doesn't, "you're the meanest mom and dad eber" :)

  • She is in "Kindiegoten" (Kindergarten) this year and she LOVES school. She has also discovered the "caveteerya" (cafeteria). Here's the story.
Kenedee and her friend Jada eat "breastas" (breakfast) at the cafeteria every morning, which I did not know about. So in the car one morning, I asked "How do you pay for your breakfast?" to which she replied, "You don't have to pay, it's free!" Somehow, I knew it was not free! It never has been! Next thing I know, she pulls out a note from the school... her cafeteria account has a negative balance!!! Lol... the innocent minds of children... I love it!
A few weeks later, I got an email from her teacher telling me that she shows up to class 10-15 minutes late everday because she's been in the cafeteria... needless to say.... she eats breakfast at home now. :)

  • I love how multiple times in any given day she will randomly say, "Mom, I lub (love) you" or "Joshy, I lub you"

  • Jen is my "stista" (sister) and Kyle is my "broverr" (brother)

  • During bed time prayers she always says "bless gramma Lori to be better. And bless that we can all be nice to each other" and if anyone in the family is traveling she asks for their safety as well.

  • She is so accepting of everyone! She makes friends everywhere she goes, and always has something nice to say about people!

  • She has a special bond with each one of her grandparents. My favorite moments are when I get to watch my dad with her. They have that special connection and I can tell she melts his heart.

I love our little Ken Ken, she has been and continues to be such a joy in our lives.

And then...

On Thursday June 9th, 2011, Sam and Josh had a date planned. Josh was taking Sam to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and Sam was CONVINCED that this was the night! Kenedee, Sam's daughter, had told her that she knew a secret that she could not tell. Sam, being her usual, inquisitive self, tried to coax it out of Kenedee. All she got is that at some point Josh was going to ask her to marry her and it was going to be when Kenedee went to her princess party. After a long day at work, and some discouraging information from her brother-in-law, Sam started thinking that maybe tonight was just not the night.
Josh picked Sam up at 6pm and she looked GOOD! They enjoyed an amazing dinner, Josh ordered the New York strip steak with garlic mashed potatoes and a caeser salad. Sam had the New York strip steak with Au Gratin potates and a caeser salad. Sam had been eyeing the gift bag that Josh had all night, hoping that maybe an engagement ring was in there. After they enjoyed the Creme Brulee for dessert, Josh gave Sam the gift. She opened it to find... Chocolates and Perfume!!! What a great gift! "Let down gift" as Sam had named it.
They got in the car and were headed home. Sam kept thinking that maybe they were going somewhere else. Josh's sister, Britni, called to ask Josh if he would stop by Honda World in Sandy where her husband works and help him jump start his truck. Sam was very upset at this point. Josh kept chit chatting and singing and this irritated Sam even more. She had plans of going home and sulking by herself.
They got to Honda World and Sam noticed Kenedee there. She was in a beautiful dress, holding flowers (Gerber Daisies which are Sam's favorite) and a ring box. She was standing in a heart shaped array of tea light candles. As Sam and Josh got closer to the display, Sam saw her mom, Anne and her sister, Jen there as well as Josh's mom, Lori, brother, Zac and sister, Britni. Josh looked at Kenedee and asked her if it would be ok if he asked her mom to marry him to which she replied "yes". He then got down on one knee, opened the ring box and said, "Samantha, will you marry me?" With the biggest smile on her face, and tears in her eyes, Samantha said "Yes". At this point, Josh asked her if she had noticed the billboard, which she had not. The electronic billboard had the words, "Samantha, will you marry me? love, Josh"

In the Beginning...

Josh and Samantha met about eight years ago when Josh moved into the neighnorhood. They soon became friends and even formed a crush. Josh was the first boy to ever buy Samantha flowers. Five years, two marriages and one beautiful daughter later, Josh and Sam reconnected. Josh was recently divorced and Sam played hard to get. After many, MANY dates and very nice surprises and gifts, they realized they were falling for each other. (Josh fell first and hardest.) They have been together almost a year now and have chosen to spend their lives, and eternity together.
